Our interdisciplinary team, with a background in both interior design and architecture, covers all phases of the design and construction process. BRETT FOKEN | Principal designer, founder

As Principal Designer, Brett brings over a decade of experience in the interior design industry, paired with a refined eye for artistry that ensures every project is imbued with creativity and individuality. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Brett now resides in Oakland, CA with her husband and young daughter.

Brett’s designs are deeply inspired by the laid-back charm of California living, the natural beauty of its landscapes, and her love for the outdoors. Her signature style marries warmth and coziness with an appreciation for antiques and history, creating spaces that balance clean lines and harmony with the beauty of character and imperfection.

Through her thoughtful and intentional approach, Brett creates environments that feel timeless, inviting, and uniquely personal.

KATHRYN LAZARUS | architectural designer, co-owner

Kathryn brings over 20+ years of experience in architecture and interior design across a wide range of both commercial and residential projects. Also a California native, Kathryn moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area after practicing architecture on the East Coast for a number of years. Kathryn now resides in Lafayette, CA with her husband and two young kids.

Now a co-owner of the Decorotation team, Kathryn focuses on residential interior design and architecture, as well as project and construction management. Kathryn’s expertise spans a wealth of industry knowledge, an exceptional eye for design, and a meticulous attention to detail. With experience managing construction projects of all sizes, she is adept at navigating complex processes while delivering elegant and functional results.

Passionate about creating beautiful spaces, precise detailing, and efficient practices, Kathryn thrives in collaborative environments, working closely with clients and teams to bring inspired designs to life.
